The Quito IV meeting resulted in the adoption of two documents – “Quito IV Declaration” and “Road Map of the Buenos Aires Chapter of the Quito Process” – which reaffirmed the importance of regional coordination to facilitate human mobility in line with human rights standards and outline prioritized issues and actions for the coming weeks and months.

Con el objetivo de monitorear el flujo de población venezolana en Ecuador, durante el mes de junio de 2019, se llevó a cabo la DTM en siete lugares de tránsito y asentamiento identificados por tener una afluencia significativa de población venezolana. La selección de estos Puntos de Monitoreo de Flujo (PMF) se determinó con el apoyo y participación de informantes clave, entre ellos, las direcciones zonales del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y Movilidad Humana, organizaciones gubernamentales, agencias de las Naciones Unidas y organismos no gubernamentales que interactúan con la población venezolana.

This situation report seeks to contribute to the knowledge on some of the protection risks that Venezuelans are exposed to, once they leave their country. It offers details about the profile of those who reported discrimination and experiences of exploitation which might amount to human trafficking, based on the information that over 4,000 respondents provided in the context of IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) surveys conducted in Central America and the Caribbean. In addition, the analysis illustrates reported needs and gaps in assistance.

En años recientes, en la República Bolivariana de Venezuela se evidencian cambios en sus procesos migratorios. Así, en el último tiempo, se intensifican los flujos hacia los tradicionales destinos así como también nuevos destinos en la región y el mundo.

Traditionally, the migration dynamics in the Americas are marked by intra and extra-regional patterns. In the case of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, migration processes have experienced evident changes in recent times. Thus, in the past few years the migration flows towards the traditional and new destinations have intensified both in the region and the world.
